Design Smith

Hi, I'm Smith.

Tell me what you want to make, and I'll help you design it and get it made.

Coming soon.

How it will work

The measure step: a photo of a plastic clip with one measuring line on it, beside a list of its sizes, most marked as estimates

Show Smith what you need

Copy a part you have, fix a broken one, or describe something new. Smith estimates the sizes from your photos and shows which ones matter most, so you only grab the calipers for those.

The design step: a 3D model of an enclosure beside a list of the problems a second review found with it

See it, and hear what's wrong

Turn the 3D model, cut through it and measure it. The app checks the final file, a second reviewer looks for problems, and you see what was checked and what wasn't.

The print step: a 3D model of the clip with its print time and filament, and a note that five of its numbers are still unchecked

Get it made

Print it yourself, or take the files to a metal shop. You always press Print and place the order yourself.

These checks don't replace trying the part for real. Smith also won't design parts that could hurt someone if they fail, like brakes or seat mounts.
